New reports have revealed that Phillip Oketch, a Kenyatta University student, was shot in the neck during the chaos and is now fighting for his life at Kenyatta National Hospital.

The incident occurred as protests escalated throughout the city.

Embakasi MP East Grandpa Owino He confirmed the student’s identity and his current condition, saying he is in serious condition and is continuing with emergency treatment.

He added that Oketch is from Karachuonyo County Homa Bay.

“Comrade Phillip Oketch was shot in the neck. He is currently in KNH in serious condition. Grandpa wrote on a Facebook post.

The Oketch case raises concerns about police behavior during protests, with questions continue to increase about the use of firearms by unarmed civilians.

The shooting of the oketch comes shortly after a controversial incident involved a vendor, who was also shot during the same protest.

According to videos spreading online and appearing by TUKO.co.ke, the vendor was separated from the protesters when two police officers attacked him.

The officers were trapped on the camera while slapping the man before one of them shot him in the head, an act carried out in front of the public eyes by the camera.
