According to Meshack Ojwang, the President of the Republic of Kenya and the ODM leader phoned him to comfort him following the death of his son in the hands of the police.

However, Meshack did not disclose more information about what they spoke to the two leaders.

“I thank the President of the Republic of Kenya and Raila Odinga for calling and comforting me. Raila phoned me abroad, and I thank him very much,” He said.

He spoke on Monday, June 16, at his home in Homa Bay County during a visit by local political leaders.

“We want answers about who killed our boy and why he was transferred to Nairobi after being arrested but we have police stations and courts here Homa Bay and throughout Nyanza,” Added Kabondo Kasipul MP, Eve Obara.

Ojwang’s father has returned home to start funeral arrangements after being in Nairobi since the day his son was arrested by officials of the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI), and later received news that he died at the hands of police.

Why was Albert Ojwang arrested?

TUKO.co.ke initially reported that the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, explained the reason for the arrest of the late Ojwang.

According to Kaja, Ojwang was arrested following a complaint filed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Eliud Lagat.

Lagat claimed that the deceased had posted his name through a post on social networks.
