Ojwang was arrested at his home and transported to Nairobi, where he was detained at the police station.

A couple of hours later, he was reported to have died, with police initially allegedly injured himself by knocking his head on cell walls which was later proved false, causing Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja to apologize to the public.

An investigation into the corpse later revealed that Ojwang died of injuries related to the attack, including headaches and neck hanging, a condition that created public outrage and the call of the whole country to be treated for justice.

An ongoing investigation has since taken a new stream.

Did Albert Ojwang died at Mbagathi hospital?

The Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) has now said that Ojwang was taken to Mbagathi hospital already dead, which is in line with previous allegations that Ojwang was announced to die at the center.

“From a letter I received from a medical officer at Mbagathi hospital. It said: ‘The above -mentioned patient Albert Omondi Ojwang was brought by police from the Nairobi Police Station at 2:00 am.”

“When he was examined, he did not respond, he did not breathe instantly, and there was no heart activity, the whole body was cold, the face was swollen, the scalp and skin bruises. The bruises on the joints. DCI Amin Mohamed said.

The Independent Police Observers Authority (IPOA) exacerbated the difficulty of the case after it revealed that CCTV zones from the main police station were repaired

Meanwhile, Amin insisted that the OCS, Samson Talam, was the main suspect in the murder, questioning why he made misleading information about the cause of Ojwang’s death.

Why was Albert Ojwang arrested?

Meanwhile, Kanja revealed that the allegations of the social network of the killed blogger made DCI officials follow him under the 2018 computer and online crime law.

Kanja confirmed that Ojwang’s allegations attracted many people, especially after involving Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat and Nairobi area police commander Joseph Chirchial and the government property ownership.

According to reports, Ojwang claimed that the Ethics and Anti -Corruption Commission (EACC) was investigating Lagat about the availability of a luxury home in Dubai worth approximately KSh 337 million.
