Albert Ojwang ‘asked for water and soda while being transported to Nairobi, Douglas Kanja revealed

Albert Ojwang was at his home in Homa Bay, regardless of his arrest that would result in his unexpected death.

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja told the Senate that the 31 -year -old left Homa Bay at 3:50 pm with police heading to Nairobi.

Kanja revealed that the first room of the blogger after leaving and police was in the city of Narok, where he had water and refreshments before continuing the journey.

How was Albert Ojwang’s journey from Homa Bay?

In front of a Senate session on Wednesday, June 11, Kanja told the Assembly that Ojwang was placed at the Mawego police station on Saturday afternoon, June 7, shortly after his arrest.

He was later dealt with for departure to Nairobi, and the trip was recorded under OB: 11/07/07/2025.

They left Homa Bay at 3:50 pm, three hours after being arrested.

Their first and special station was in the city of Narok, where Ojwang asked for water and drink after a long journey.

“The team stood in Narok City to find refreshments, where the suspect asked for water, a bottle of soda and cookies. They arrived at the Nairobi Police Station for about 2117,” Kaja said.

Then they headed to Nairobi, where they arrived at nine o’clock in the afternoon.

Kanja further informed the house that Ojwang had contacted his wife to tell him that he had arrived in Nairobi safely.

Ojwang’s arrest was implemented following a complaint by Eliud Lagat, Deputy Inspector General of the Kenyan Police Service (KPS), who was accused of being criticized by a Twitter message allegedly sent through the X account of the deceased.

While also honoring the Senate’s call on Wednesday, June 11, the head of the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI), Mohamed Amin, said the officials who arrested Ojwang were good to him and even bought him the refreshments mentioned in the middle of the trip.

While confirming that the car of DCISubaru Forester, was used to transport Ojwang, Amin told the Senate that the blogger was handed over to officers at the police station, and then the car was allowed to DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.

The DCI chief referred to the officer leading the police station as the chief suspect of the Ojwang murder.

What officers arrested Albert Ojwang?

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of the Independent Police Operations Authority (IPOA), Ann Wanjiku, revealed to the Senate that the team of officers left Nairobi early on Saturday, June 7 for Homa Bay.

When they arrived, as previously shown, they identified themselves at the Mawego police station before heading to Ojwang’s house later that afternoon.

They arrested him and brought him, where he was later transported to Nairobi.

According to Wanjiku, the officers left Homa Bay to Nairobi in the 3:00 minutes and arrived six hours later.

Officers who arrested Ojwang are Sergeant Sigei and Wesley Kipkorir Kirui, as well as police officers Dennis in the field, Milton Mwanze, and Boniface Rapudo.
