Did the ODM MPs condemn the government?
Led by a local MP for Suba North, Millie OdhiamboThe MPs criticized Ojwang’s death in the hands of the police. They also denied police allegations that the blogger had cut his life by knocking his head on the wall.
They considered what they called police brutality to young people demanding the government.
“To me, not that he is dead. Who ordered the arrest of the boy?” Millie questioned angrily.
Seme MP James Nyikal supported Millie’s statement while questioning why the police felt it was important to transport the blogger from Homa Bay to Nairobi.
“Were there no police stations in Homa Bay where he could be placed?” Nyikal asked.
They also called on the government of Kenya first for allegedly failing to end police violence in the country.
The MPs further reminded the President William Ruto Regarding his promise that his government will never use security officers to intimidate people.
“The president himself has said he will bring to order people who are in government who are hooligans. We want, so, to tell the President, please call your hippo,” Millie added.
Embakasi MP East Grandpa Owino He also joined his colleagues to announce the death of the blogger. He has called on the government to ensure that the police responsible for the brutal act are brought to court and charged with murder.
The MP suggested the use of public resources to travel to Homa Bay and return to the name of the arrest instead of holding Ojwang ‘in the county where there are many stations.
“The Constitution and the Penal Code clearly describes how things should be addressed as soon as someone is arrested. To the point of killing an innocent person. Move from Nairobi, losing government resources in the name of subarus, going to Homa Bay, passing through many counties to arrest a person whose only offense was to tell the truth on social networks,” Grandpa said.
He suggested disobeying police officers.
“What time is it to live in this country?” He questioned.
