Nyandarua County Commissioner Abdirizak Jaldesa said the accident happened in Gichaka area on Monday, June 9 at 10 pm.
According to Jaldesa, preliminary investigations showed that a bus that was transporting several tourists often poured into a hole.
He said the tourists were traveling from Nakuru Up to the Panari Hotel in Nyahururu for sleeping one night before continuing their journey.
The county commissioner confirmed that six people died instantly, with 27 suffering from various injuries and rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
“We have confirmed that six people have died in the crash. However, we have not yet identified their citizenship. Jaldesa said as reported by KBC.
According to those who witnessed the accident, the bus lost focus after the rains and rolled several times before hitting a tree.
“It lost control and rolled up several times. It hit the tree and eventually stopped. We ran up to the scene and helped rescue those inside,” Said Macdavis Wanjau.
