Albert Ojwang ‘: Father tells bitterly when he received reports of his son’s death in the hands of police

Nairobi – the sad father of the famous X, Albert Omondi Ojwang ‘, has narrated how he received the sad news about the death of his son.

Meshack Ojwang Opiyo said he was told directly that his son had hit his head and died.

“They said they had bad news: My son hit his head on the wall and died,” Said Meshack.

The sad father explained in tears that Albert was his only son. He remembered the suffering he had gone through, with the intention of assuring him a better future.

“I have no other male or female son, he was unique. He said.

Why was Albert Ojwang arrested?

Meshack explained that his son was arrested by officials dressed on Saturday, June 7, while eating lunch at their home in Kabondo Kasipul, Homa Bay County.

“My son was looking at his vegetable garden in our courtyard, and I was picking up weeds on my corn field. Later he went to do some work and returned for lunch time,” Said Meshack.

The sad father explained that six people arrived at their home on three motorcycles, which led him out to welcome them.

“They said they were police officers and said they were looking for my son, who at the time was eating lunch out.”He explained.

When he asked the reason for his son’s arrest, Meshack said he was told that Albert had insulted their boss on X (formerly Twitter).

“When I asked who the boss was, they told me to follow them up to the Mawego police station and get full information. My brother and I followed them and found them already interviewing him in front of the station commander (OCS),” He narrated.

However, the online lobby was transferred later to the Nairobi Police Station, where he was registered just hours before he died in a confusing situation.

News of his death spread, leaving family, friends and Kenyans in general with many questions about what had happened to the boy in custody and what exactly caused his sudden death.

What did the police say about Albert’s death?

According to a report by TUKO.co.ke, the National Police Service (NPS), in an official statement, said that Albert was injured in the head at Nairobi Police Station.

NPS stated that Ojwang was rushed to Mbagathi hospital where he was announced to die when he arrived.

Police spokesman Muchiri Nyaga said that the Police Observers Authority (IPOA) had already begun an investigation into the incident.

In another statement issued on Monday, June 9, the authorities revealed that several Nairobi Police Station officials had been detained (Interdiction) to provide an opportunity for IPOA to conduct an independent investigation into the incident.
