This follows the allegations of a lack of political trust and open relationship with the Democracy Party (DCP), the opposition party led by the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
In a letter written on Friday, June 6, the disciplinary committee of UDA It called Ann Thumbi (Nyeri) and Joyce Muthoni Mwangi (Nairobi) to answer that they have been promoting a new DCP created.
The allegations, described in detail in official show letters signed by committee chairman Charles Njenga, cite “Party members’ aggression to leave UDA” and “Obedience to another political party” as a basis for disciplinary cases.
The letter, which TUKO.co.ke gave an eye on it, warning that the two MCAs could be suspended, dismissed or fined if they were found guilty of violating section 29 of the UDA Constitution.
“Your actions outlined above bring aggression of party members to move the UDA party and completely ignore it [] Party Constitution, Code and Code of Ethics, “ Njenga said.
What are the claims against Muthoni, Thumbi
According to the letter, Thumbi and Muthoni are said to be actively involved in DCP meetings, wearing party brand products and publicizing them.
Thumbi is widely criticized for attending a DCP rally where he allegedly called on UDA supporters to move and join the new party.
The committee’s letter notes that these activities are not only internal concerns but are widely shared in regular and social platforms.
MCAS are expected to appear in front of the UDA disciplinary panel on Friday, June 20, at 9am in Hustler Plaza, where they can represent themselves or come with legal attorneys.
Under Article 29.2.1 of the UDA Constitution, members may be disciplined in obedience to another political party, dishonesty and failure to obey the party’s moral principles.

The committee made it clear that any proposals would be submitted to the National Executive Committee (NEC) for more compromise and action, creating an environment that could bring about professional change.
If the NEC accepts the results of the committee, Thumbi and Muthoni may be the latest victims in the wave of political discipline.
“Please note that if the committee sees you are responsible, it will impose restrictions as outlined in the Constitution,” The party said.
Why was Owoba fired
This recent move signifies the broader repression of the UDA against members who appear to be united with emerging political parties.
The call came just weeks after UDA overturned the nomination of Senator Gloria Orwoba, citing similar allegations of disobedience and infidelity.
Like Thumbi and Muthoni, Owoba was charged with playing opposition and undermining the party’s unity.
The party’s recent disciplinary position seems to reflect the growing concerns in its ranks regarding the internal divisions before the 2027 general elections.
