Different areas in five regions will experience power interruptions on Friday, June 6, 2025.
In a notice issued by Kenya Power on Thursday, June 5, 2025, the blackout will affect parts of the Central Rift, North Rift, Western, North Eastern and Coastal regions.
The outage, which is expected to affect activities that depend on electricity, is due to the planned system maintenance.
“Good evening. These areas will be on planned power interruptions tomorrow, 06.06.2025,” Kenya Power announced.
Central Rift
In the Central Rift region, customers in part of Nakuru County will be without power from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
According to Kenya Power, the outage will mainly affect parts of Uwezo Millers, Vashma Mabati, Fai Amarillo, Kayole Makutano, Sanell, Ma-raro, Safari Centre, Keroche Breweries, Karai, Laini, Roka Industries, Kinungi, Kinamba, Maraigushu, Brilliant Slaughter, Nyondia, Karati, NYS, Live Wire, Kariki, Rift Valley Roses, Gatamaiyu and adjacent customers.
Similarly, parts of Nyandarua County will be affected by the scheduled power blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Specific areas include the whole of Engineer, Murungaru, Kinamba, the whole of Munyaka, Mike Eden, the whole of Yanga, Ndothua, Sasumua Dam, Kiboro, the whole of Ndunyu Njeru, the whole of Memo, Ndinda, the whole of Mumui, Tigoni, the whole of Machinery, the whole of Kabati, Foot Hill School, the whole of Mubau, Mukiri, the whole of Munyuini and adjacent customers.
North Rift
In the North Rift region, the 9:00 am to 6:00 pm outage is set to affect parts of Nandi County.
According to the utility company, customers in Kapsabet, Namgoi, Kapsabet Boys, Mother Francisca, St Peter’s Catholic Church, Kamobo, Kokwet and adjacent customers will be affected.
Western Region
According to Kenya Power, parts of Kakamega County are set to experience a blackout from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Specific areas include Shimanyiro Market, Eshishiru Market, Shibuli Market, Jamindas, Elwesero, Emasai, Maondo and adjacent customers.
Northeastern
While in the northeastern region, the scheduled 8:00 am to 5:00 pm outage will affect residents and customers in Mai Mahiu, River Springs Hotel, Mayers, Namja, China Wu-Yi, Gold Stone Quarry, Manyata Quarry, Yellow Stones Quarry, Kingston Quarry, Ewaso Kedong Market, Najire Girls, Earth Station and adjacent customers.
Coast
In the Coastal region, the utility company announced that parts of Mombasa County, including Naivas S/Market Bombolulu, Kisimani, Makaburini and adjacent customers, will experience a power outage from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
