He promised to help the family in seeking justice for their loved one.
“MP Dan Kilice, MCA Muri and I will help the family find a lawyer to defend them. The one who killed the sniper, and who planned to go to Mutinda, must be brought before justice, “ Said the governor.
The sniper’s body was found in December 2023 near the Mutonga River. A corpse later showed that he was tortured and killed.
Why is the sniper not yet buried?
More than a year later, his body is still in a state of land dispute, but the family and local officials now want him to be released for burial.
According to the governor of Meru, the sniper funeral should be held as soon as possible. He wanted the family to address any issues that prevent the funeral.
“The delay is not rejected, but we cannot save the body of the sniper forever. If I had authority, I would say he should be buried before the end of July,” Said Mutuma.
Similar statements were made by her mother Sniper, Ann Kanjira.

Ann admitted that the delay in her son’s funeral has hurt them, while going through the pain of finding the response to the brutal killings.
“As Governor Mutuma explained, please do not let the funeral continue until July. No one stays with the corpse in the house and continues with life as usual. You must come back and put the body down,” Said the mother with emotion.
The case against suspects linked to the kidnapping, torture and slaughter of a sniper is scheduled to be heard this week from Wednesday, June 4 to Friday, June 6.
