Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mercie revealed that he started working in Saudi Arabia for two years and seven months, then moved to Lebanon where he stayed for five years and nine months.
Emphasizing the financial discipline, he explained that what helped him to complete the project was to reduce his spending.
Mercie explained that when he was in Lebanon, his monthly salary started at $ 400 and was added annually as a sign of appreciation for his diligence and honesty at work.
Despite that salary being moderate, he continued to hold on to his long -term dream.
“For four years I had been building slowly. Not you know the money and I also pay for the Mtoi School Fees, food. he added.
