Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai has celebrated her husband Joe Kariuki, expressing deep gratitude for their relationship and their spiritual journey together.
In a heartfelt message shared via her Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 1, 2025, Anerlisa posted adorable photos featuring her hubby and reflected on how much Joe means to her.
She described their relationship as one of the best blessings in her life, revealing that they have endured a lot but remain grounded in faith.
“Meeting my hubby was one of the best things that God ever planned. Every day, I am grateful for him. We have been through so much together. One thing we decided to do is never to lose hope in God,” she wrote.
The businesswoman first announced her marriage to Joe in October 2024. At the time, she revealed that they had made a life-changing decision to quit alcohol and focus on their spiritual growth and personal development. However, the exact date of their wedding remains unclear.
In her recent posts, Anerlisa gave a glimpse into their lifestyle, highlighting simple joys in their home. She noted that Ribena is always stocked in the house—her husband’s favourite drink. Since giving up alcohol, the couple has embraced a healthier routine.
“We quit alcohol to concentrate on ourselves and God. I’ve discovered that I enjoy water and herbal teas,” she shared, adding that they have been sober for seven months.
Failed marriage
This is Anerlisa’s second marriage. She was previously married to Tanzanian artist Ben Pol. The ex-lovers tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2020, attended by close family and friends. Sadly, the union was short-lived and ended in a bitter divorce that took nearly two years to finalise.
Despite the grandeur of their church wedding, the couple soon experienced marital troubles. In 2021, Ben Pol publicly confirmed that he had filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. He admitted that although the legal process was still ongoing at the time, the emotional connection between them had already ended.
“I indeed filed for divorce, lakini process bado inaendelea. Divorce inachukua time, so kwa hiyo kisheria bado tumefungwa pamoja lakini kihisia sidhani kama kuna mmoja anataka kuwa na mwenzake,” Ben said in an interview.
He further revealed that his feelings toward Anerlisa had changed and acknowledged missing the red flags early in their relationship. He noted that her family was notably absent during their wedding.
“Kwa saa hivi mimi namuombea tu heri lakini kusema ati namzimia, hapana hakuna kitu kinaweza kutokea kati yangu mimi na yeye,” he said.
Following the official end of their marriage in 2022, Anerlisa celebrated the smooth conclusion of the legal battle and applauded her legal team for their efficiency.
“Officially Free. It would not be fair not to give a shout-out to these two advocates who worked tirelessly to make sure that the divorce was done quickly and not wait for years,” she wrote.
Anerlisa and Ben Pol had been dating since 2018. They got married in May 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, just weeks after the tragic death of her younger sister, Tecra.
