Why do MPs push Gachagua to be arrested?
Speaking during a parliamentary session on Tuesday, May 8, following the rest of the month, MPs expressed sadness by Gachagua, accusing him of inspiring Kenyans.
The MPs were responding to Gachagua’s remarks, suggesting that the 2027 general election could be plagued by post -election violence than the chaos in 2007.
Led by the leader of the majority of the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah, the MPs also criticized the country’s security agencies for failing to take action.
“This is not just a black -hearted person but a very dark spirit. Who do you think you can even celebrate the death of Kenyans, calling a Christmas ceremony? Shame for you,” Ichung’wah said.
The Kikuyu MP’s opinion was supported by a minority leader in the National Assembly Junet Mohamed, who accused Gachaea of spreading hatred against a particular community.
Mohamed also criticized Gachagua for insisting that musicians from Mount Kenya should apologize after visiting the residence of deputy president Kithure Kindiki In Karen.
“This person we have accused of so much is the one who tells Kenyans that if you do not follow this direction, my party will not be a legitimate citizen. Junet said.
The MP went on to claim that the actions of the former deputy president have set aside Mount Kenya, thus bringing divisions and tensions within the community.
He warned that if the government did not take care of the situation carefully, it could lead to situations where people feel they must seek the approval of Gachaka to visit the area, thus exacerbating regional divisions and mistrust.

Did the NCIC call him Gachagua?
MPs’ arrests of arrests are coming shortly after the National Compliance and National Compliance Commission (NCIC) criticized his post -election riots 2007/2008 as “Christmas celebration.”
In a strong statement issued on Wednesday, May 21, the NCIC referred to the remarks as very annoying and careless, warning that such a language threatens Kenya’s peace and unity.
Gachagua’s views re -opened the difficult periods in Kenya’s history, in which more than 1,100 people were killed and more than 600,000 to evacuate their homes.
The commission promised to hold the deputy president for what it refers to the negligent remarks.
In response, Gachagua, through his lawyer Kibe Mungai, accused the NCIC of preference, claiming the instrument voluntarily implemented the law.
