The video, which is now widespread across the Internet, has sparked anger and has fueled a new call for strong road safety rules.
Sikika Road Safety published a video of this traumatic event that is believed to occur on one of the most busy highways, though the actual area was not revealed.
In the video, the boda hostess seems to be trying to penetrate the traffic congestion while the truck, in high speed and as if it is unconstitutional, trampling him.
What followed was a traumatic incident, in which the motorcycle was pushed and wandered around before being stuck under the truck that seemed to be brake.
From the video, it was clear that the injuries he suffered were very serious, and he was declared dead shortly afterwards.
The late name has not yet been publicly announced. Kenyans have flooded on social networks delivering messages of sadness, anger, and despair from the incident.
Others blamed the boda driver for not being careful on the road and entering the speed of a high speed truck.
Others blamed the truck driver for driving at high speed despite the traffic congestion in front of him.
Despite the differences of opinion, many agreed that the tragic accident would have been avoided.
Patrick Njeru:
“This is how the bodaboda is running. Imagine if he was carrying two passengers as usual.”
John Adroind:
“Before he blamed the boda boda, where was the milk truck going at that speed in the middle of the congestion?”
Bodaboda operators, which are an important link in the Kenyan travel network, are often among the most vulnerable victims of road accidents.
According to the Road Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), more than 1,000 motorcyclists died from road accidents last year, while many others were injured.
