According to reports from the diocese, the body of the priest will be buried on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the Holy Family parish, Ol’lessos, Nandi County.
“This is to inform you that the body of Patriarch Allois Cheruiyot Bett will leave the MTRH Mochari on Monday, June 2, 2025, for a two -hour manifestation and a three -hour mass at the Sacred Heart of Jesus’ Cathedral,” It read part of the statement from the Assistant Bishop of the Diocese of Eldoret, John Arap Lelei.
“The funeral mass and burial operation will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in the Holy Family parish, Ol’lessos, Nandi’s pastoral area,” he added.
The date of the funeral was announced on the day that the Holy Mass of honor for the deceased was held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Eldoret.
Bishop Dominic Kimengich led the mass, which was attended by several political leaders from the North Rift region.
Speaking to reporters after Mass, Bishop Kimengich said the killing should be a warning to the whole nation about the value of life.
“This event should make us think as a Kenyan society as we have come down morally, because it seems human life is no longer appreciated. Maybe God allowed this to happen to understand that every life is important,” Said Bishop Kimengich.
He also called on the government to ensure that all criminal perpetrators are arrested and brought before the law.

For his part, Nandi Governor, Stephen Sang, called on the government to invest heavily in opening up areas affected by livestock theft in the Kerio valley.
The governor explained that over the years, resources have been focused on peace -seeking efforts.
