Gospel artiste Alex Nyachonga Apoko, widely known as Ringtone, has thrown an extravagant house party for his celebrity friends at his sprawling Runda residence just days after being released on a Ksh3 million cash bail by the court.

In a video shared by YouTuber 2 Mbili on Monday, May 26, 2025, the gospel singer was seen laying out a royal welcome for a select group of friends who arrived at the Runda home in luxurious vehicles before warmly ushering them inside, where an abundance of food and drinks awaited them.

2 Mbili, who was also among the invited guests, revealed that Apoko had extended invitations only to a carefully chosen circle of close friends and confidants.

“Wassup, guys? Apoko has invited us for a bash at his place, so we are heading to the chairman’s house. He called me while I was in the hospital because I was struggling with severe eye problems, but now my eyes have improved, although they were watering heavily. He is quite anxious. He has invited only his close friends, so if you are not close and you have not received a call or message, then you have not been invited by the chairman himself,” 2 Mbili explained.

The main dishes served were the classic Kenyan staples of ugali and nyama choma, and given that the majority of guests were men, the serving was far from orderly as they crowded around the plates and took as much as they desired.

The guest list included fellow gospel artiste Ezra FBI, who, along with others, live-streamed the festivities as the party progressed.

After catching up inside the lounge, the guests later migrated to the outdoor space where the revelry and conversations continued well into the evening.

Ringtone’s home tour

Subsequently, Ringtone took the opportunity to unveil some of the luxurious features within his home, offering a partial tour of several rooms.

Among the treasures he displayed in the sitting room were various awards he has collected since embarking on his musical journey, including accolades from the Music Copyright Society of Kenya, Coca-Cola, and StarTimes.

He also revealed a particularly special trophy – a golden egg awarded to him following a performance in America, which he described as the most precious and valuable possession in his collection.

In addition, he showcased a People’s Choice Collaborator Award and his YouTube Silver Play Button, which he received years ago after establishing himself in gospel music.

“This here is called the golden egg; it is my most treasured gift. I was performing in America when I received this golden egg, and it is by far the most expensive award I own. There is also this other award, the People’s Choice Collaborator Award,” Apoko explained.

Thereafter, the other guests joined 2 Mbili and Apoko for a tour of the house, during which he flaunted his expansive wardrobe, boasting it contains over three hundred pairs of shoes.

Hospitalisation and court battle

Apoko then took a moment to share the motivation behind hosting the lavish bash, explaining that he needed to unwind and relax after his recent hospitalisation and ongoing legal battles.

“Those who have come here have feasted on everything. This comes after many hardships, including my recent hospital stay, where I was afflicted by severe complications that required urgent care. But I am thankful to be here now,” he said.

The singer was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, due to a condition characterised by severe breathing difficulties.

Speaking from the hospital on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the ‘Tenda Wema’ hitmaker revealed that he had been receiving rehydration through intravenous drips and shared that he had endured an incredibly agonising ordeal since falling ill.

“You can see there are numerous intravenous fluid drips here beside me. I have been struggling with serious breathing difficulties,” he explained.

During that time, he also disclosed that he had been battling sharp and intense chest pains.

“What is happening now is that I have been placed on medication. I hope to recover soon. However, I am still experiencing chest pains and can feel the persistent ache in my chest,” he shared while seated at the edge of his hospital bed.

Apoko further mentioned that he suspected the illness might have been triggered by prolonged exposure to rain over several days, possibly resulting in a severe cold.

“There was a moment when I was caught in the rain and tried to run, but the downpour had already begun heavily, and I believe that contributed to my condition,” he said.
