Mbale Boys’ High School in Vihiga County was burned on Sunday night, May 25, with students allegedly opposed to a ban on football and other unresolved complaints.

In a shocking tragedy, students burned school property and threw their cabinets on the road on Mbale -Chavakali Road, which caused a major disruption to transportation.

The circles told TUKO.co.ke that the violence began after the students were denied permission to enjoy a football match, which led to anger that turned out to be a great deal of violence.

Drivers were forced to look for alternatives as students blocked the busy road and engaged in confrontation with security officers.

Eyewitnesses described the state of confusion and damage, with heavy smoke rising from inside the school and the property spread on the road.

The vehicles were damaged, the school wall was demolished, and some of the buildings were burned down with security officials struggling to control the situation, but tensions continued until midnight.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that some students are hospitalized, while others are unknown after they have rushed to the countryside to hide.

Until the time of writing this statement, school management had not provided official information about the event or steps to be taken.
