Tongue slippery: Meru governor breaks the ribs by failing

What was a regular inspection of market construction in Meru County turned out to be an unexpected comedy after Meru Governor Isaac Mutuma mistakenly referred to Deputy President Kithure Kindiki as “Deputy Governor of the Republic of Kenya.”

The incident took place on Friday, May 23, during an ongoing construction inspection at the Kamachege market located in the Imenti parliamentary constituency, Meru County.

How the tongue slipping to Governor Mutuma was exciting the Meru residents

Governor Mutuma, who was accompanied by the new deputy governor of Meru, Linda Gakii Kiome, addressed the assembled residents on the car.

In a state of clearly obvious joy, he slipped to the tongue and said:

“Sir, Deputy Governor of the Republic of Kenya,” said Governor Mutuma before a quick correction and added, “No – Deputy President of our country, Kenya. I am very happy to have our Deputy President here at home every day. We love you very much.

The crowd consisting of local traders, residents, and community leaders responded with a great laugh.

At the same time, Kindiki smiled and showed a sign of appreciation for the governor’s laughter.

Governor Mutuma praised the Deputy President for his commitment to develop the President’s agenda William Ruto.

He explained that the constant visits of Deputy President Meru have strengthened the relationship between the central government and the residents of the county.

“Sir, how you help the President spread the government’s agenda every day – we are grateful. The day we were in Mwendantu, we told you: If you go to other parts of the country once, come to Meru four times. And that’s what the Deputy President has done,” Said Mutuma.

Then he turned to the crowd and asked with a wide smile:

“Would you want the Deputy President to come to Meru every day?” The crowd replied with great joy and collective voice, “Yes!”

In addition, Governor Mutuma emphasized major development projects supported by the central government, in particular citing the gakoromone market he called the largest in Kenya.

“Sir, while major markets are built in other parts of the country, please bring us some like that of Gakoromone – the largest of its kind. The market cost 800 million shillings, with your help, Deputy President, and President William Ruto,” explained Mutuma.

How Isaac Mutuma was officially handed over to the Meru County leadership

Mutuma officially took over the leadership of Meru County following the removal of his predecessor, Governor Kawira Mwira, whose charges of ousting him were approved by the Nairobi High Court on Friday, March 14.

His overseas took place on March 17, giving him full authority to carry out the governor’s duties.

In its decision, the Supreme Court supported the Senate’s decision, saying that the legislative body dealt with the process in accordance with the law.

Judge Luck Mwamuye confirmed that the Senate had implemented the process effectively during its joint sessions.

Kindiki responded generously, thanking the people of Meru for continuing to support him.

He promised that he and Ruto would return to Meru on Monday to continue development projects.

The Kamachege market is one of the priority infrastructure projects aimed at promoting local businesses and improving people’s lives in Meru County.
