Beauty and makeup entrepreneur Phoina Tosha has come out to dismiss recent pregnancy rumours circulating online, describing them as nothing more than an April Fools’ Day mischief.
Speaking to popular YouTuber Trudy Kitui on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Phoina, who is known to keep her love life on the hush-hush, made it clear that she is not expecting a child and expressed surprise at how the false news spread.
Phoina explained that she has no idea who started the pregnancy rumours, but believes they originated as a joke that got out of hand. She assured her fans and followers that when she is pregnant, it will be an announcement she shares openly and proudly.
“That was a rumour, I don’t know who started it, but I think it was started as an April Fool’s Day rumour. But I am not pregnant. When I get pregnant, you guys will be the first ones to know,” Phoina shared.
On the question of when she plans to have children, Phoina noted that such decisions are personal and involve her partner and God.
“Hiyo ni mambo yangu, na mtu wangu na mungu wangu. But mimba haifichiki, mtaona tu,” she said.
Phoina also touched on her relationship status, saying things are going well between her and her mystery partner. However, she prefers to keep her love life out of the public eye, despite constant speculation about her partner’s identity.
“Tunaendelea poa, relationships ni ups and downs. For me, I like to keep my relationship private. I have always kept mine private,” she explained.
She added that while she uses the internet actively to promote her brand, she draws a line when it comes to her personal happiness and relationship details.
“It is going well. Tunaendelea poa, relationships ni ups and downs. For me, I like to keep my relationship private. I have always kept mine private. I know people always speculate on the identity of my partner, napenda ivo. I use the internet to push my brand, but for my love life, and anything that makes me happy, I keep it on the low,” she noted.
Relationship with Bahati
In a conversation with YouTuber Patience M. Titus in September 2023, the socialite made it clear that she does not date Kenyan men and dismissed rumours suggesting she had a relationship with Kenyan musician Bahati.
She emphasised that Bahati is a good man and that their connection is purely friendly, largely due to her close relationship with his wife, Diana.
“Bahati aliombewa. He is a good man. He can do what he wants. He is blessed, and sisi we are just good friends,” she explained.
Interestingly, at the launch of her skincare and beauty line on Wednesday, March 24, 2022, Bahati surprised attendees when he expressed that he might consider dating Phoina.
Bahati had come to the event on behalf of his wife Diana, who was unwell and unable to attend.
During his speech, he addressed Phoina’s mother, jokingly saying he was trying to gather money so he could come back and woo her daughter.
This was because Phoina had never introduced any boyfriend to them, and as a friend, he felt concerned.
“The only thing I am wondering, Phoina, is that you have not introduced us to your boyfriend. Mama Phoina, natafuta pesa, naeza kumchukua kama bibi,” Bahati said.
