Speaking at a press conference on Friday, May 13, Kihara said that his protection had been removed from the midst of increasing threats against MPs.

Kihara emphasized that every MP has the right to have a security guard and expressed great fears about his safety.

He asked him directly William Ruto intervene and restore its protection before the situation gets worse.

“I don’t know how we are expected to work, if we have to have hooligans in cars with swords and clubs. I ask the president because during the campaign he was everywhere saying he would not use security forces to develop his politics,” Said Kihara.

Kihara also suggested that his proximity to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua should not be the reason for him to be deprived of protection.

“I have said many times. I am neither a child nor a fool. I am a person who can make my own decisions, as I did when I supported William Samoei Ruto. He said.

The MP cautioned the President that efforts to harass Gachagua’s conflict using security forces would fail. He added that if anything happens to him when he has no protection, then Ruto will have to be held accountable.

“I feel at great danger now. I feel very clear. You know our work involves traveling and walking at night. So, Mr. President, I should return my security officer or my guard. He said.
