Content creator and digital influencer Georgina Njenga has opened up about her ongoing sobriety journey, revealing that she is now 43 days into a 90-day alcohol detox, a move she says was partly motivated by her fans’ concern for her well-being.

The mother of one, who shares a daughter with former Machachari actor Baha, took to social media to celebrate her progress. In a candid post, she acknowledged gaining 10kg since quitting alcohol.

“Since you all complained about my weight ,10kgs added. Day 43/90 sober too,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Thursday, May 23, 2025.

The playful tone of her caption was matched with emoji decorations, but the message behind it was deeply personal. Georgina’s decision to step away from alcohol comes after she took a one-month break from social media, a move she said helped her reflect and reset.

Fans inspired change

According to Georgina, many of her followers had expressed concern about her rapid weight loss and overall health, with some urging her to consider giving up alcohol. Their feedback seems to have made an impact, prompting her to reevaluate her lifestyle choices.

In response, she not only embraced sobriety but also hinted at a shift in the content she will be creating moving forward, asking fans what they would like to see on her platforms.

Body transformation

One of the most noticeable changes since beginning her sobriety journey, Georgina says, has been weight gain, something she embraces as a sign of healing.

Health experts note that giving up alcohol can lead to physical changes such as improved metabolism, better sleep, and reduced sugar cravings, which may contribute to healthy weight gain.
