In a video clip shared by Derrick Mbugua on Facebook, the pastor looked healthy, happy and courageous as he listened to the sermon.
Maina was the head of the Igwamiti Catholic parish in Nyandarua, and was found dead after being attacked, kidnapped and thrown along the road in Gilgil, County Nakuru.
Three weeks ago, the priest was a host of former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua During the family day, and now his Subaru Forester car has not yet been found, which raises further questions as investigations into the brutal killings continue.
“There is a system, violence and systematic restoration. Our country is in violence and we do not know where we are going. Kenyans mourn the death of Father John Maina
Another report showed that Kenyans mourned the death of Maina, their beloved Catholic priest from Nyahururu, who served as a host of Gachagua during the church.
The body of the priest was found about 50 kilometers from his church and the people who saw it and then notified the authority.
The death of the servant of God has occurred just weeks after urging leaders to serve humbly and trust in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of his church.
