Through a statement on X (former Twitter) on Sunday, May 18, Kalonzo Musyoka responded to widespread reports that DCI officials had plans to arrest the former deputy president, Rigathi Gachagua.

Citing the allegations as a threat to the opposition, Kalonzo called on the government to comply with the law if it requires Gachagua.

Kalonzo suggested that if he was called in the right order, the opposition is ready to submit Gachagua to the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI).

“These threats against the opposition must end. Rutoif you want to arrest Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, do so in accordance with the law. We are ready to submit DP Gachagua to DCI. Please stop kidnapping Kenyans and their leaders. The kidnapping is cruel and fearful, ” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo’s statement came just minutes after Gachagua’s attorney, Ndengwa Njiru, claimed via X to become officials of DCI They had invaded Gachagua’s residence in Karen and Wamunyoro.
