Speaking in an Obina television interview, the former deputy president revealed that Ruto’s tears were the main reason why he believed him and offered to support him in the campaign even without a formal post -election agreement.
“The relative would come even when he cried, if you see an adult crying for him, I was a great friend of Uhuru Kenyattaand at some point Ruto knew I was in the pressure to leave her and join Independence, she knew when I was leaving she would be finished, so she was here crying for me not to leave, I was in a terrible shock, if you were a woman, 50 years and the leader is a 50 -year -old. For that, you take it seriously, “ Gachagua said.
Gachagua revealed that he had chosen to post his photos with Ruto in his home, seeing them as a memory that reminds him of the president’s failure to reach their agreement during the 2022 campaigns.
He narrated how, during the election, Ruto regularly visited his home in Wamunyoro to seek his support for the presidency.
At the time, Ruto, who was deputy president under Uhuru Kenyatta, appeared to be faithful and influential in his goal of running for the top seat.
During these visits, they shared events and photographed, looking forward to the next election.
Gachagua admitted that he was influenced by Ruto’s promises and did not see the negative consequences, including his removal.
Despite their relationship, Gachagua explained that he chose to put the pictures instead of throwing them.
