The unexpected inconvenience caused officials and attendees to rush to the secret place amid noise and physical confrontation within the hall.
In one video, a civilian, thought to be a member of the Gachagua security team, is seen shooting at the air to break the riots.
How did Gachagua respond after the hooligans interrupted her event?
On Thursday night, May 15, Gachagua went to his social networks to accuse the President William Ruto By planning such a conflict in the launch of his party.
He wanted his former boss to stop sending armed people to intimidate him, his family and his followers, emphasizing that they have the same rights and freedoms as all Kenyans.
“As a gentleman, just acknowledge that you have lost the faith and support of the people and continue,” Gachagua’s statement read in part.
The former Mathira MP reported a number of incidents where armed groups were sent to disrupt the events he attended.
He suggested the first case in November 2024, shortly after being charged, when the hooligans interrupted the worship of the dead he was attending Limuru. He also said that the attack was aimed at his wife, Dorcas Rigathi, and their two sons.
“You sent the leader of the criminal gang you shared in the mountain to support you; they attacked my wife and Christians during a prayer meeting in Nyeri, and contaminated the altar of God in the activity. Gachagua’s statement read in part.
He also described the January incident, saying that the hooligans, accompanied by police officers, forcefully removed his children from the office they rented and worked for five years.
The former deputy president claimed that police had expressed dismay, claiming the head of state had prevented them from holding responsibility and disrupting his events.
He concluded by calling on President Ruto to admit that he had lost his support with his supporters, and sought the support of the portfolio.
“Why don’t you just accept that you have lost my support and that of my followers and seek to be supported elsewhere. Doesn’t it bother your conscience that you have decided to use criminal and hooligans to intimidate and attack those who are no longer supported?” Gachagua questioned.
