In an interview with Itugi TV, He revealed that the dark period was about to cost him his life, his family, and everything he had struggled to find.
Kiairie, who once owned a radiator shop and several rental houses, said its financial foundation was built reliably.
Friends and family, believing in his commercial skills, loaned him large sums of money, ranging from KSh 45,000 to KSh 540,000, without claiming a formal agreement.
One even got a KSh 300,000 loan on his behalf, which helped him buy his first car.
His introduction to gambling seemed to be harmless in the beginning. He won KSh 8,000 from the Ksh 200 stock and later won KSh 64,000 from the KSh 400 deal.
When his victory reached Ksh 95,000, Kiairie says he was “officially trapped”.
“It seemed like easy money. I started to believe this was my new way of success. Soon, I owned up to KSh 100,000 at a time,” he recalled.
But the excitement of gambling quickly turned into a destructive addiction. For the first time, her daughter reported to the school with a rate of fees – something that bothered her. Instead of paying a school fee, Kiahie took out a loan from Shlock and gambled. In an attempt to restore its losses, he made a sad decision: selling a portion of the land that had its own rental houses for KSh 3.5 million.
The whole amount disappeared from the gambling pool. In the lowest situation, overwhelmed with debt and shame, he ran Nakuru to Mombasa, aiming to end his life by drowning the sea.
“I couldn’t bear it anymore. I had ruined everything,” he admitted.
However, fate intervened. He got a job at a construction site in Mombasa, which restored his family’s memories and gave him a reason to live.
Kiairie says he was running regularly to escape the claimants who were chasing him. It was the intervention of her aunt, who paid her debts, and his wife, who took over the management of her remaining business interests, which helped pull her from the brink.
