The incident, which surprised MPs, left them stuck at the gate, failing to reach their assigned workplaces or even basic services such as toilets.

Security officers who usually welcome them with a smile and greeting at the door forbidden them, citing strict instructions from KICC management.

Among the victims are prominent MPs, including Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, Alego MP Samonga Sam Atandi, Grandpa Owino East Embakasi and Nyandarua Senator John Methu.

The victims are also assistant staff and other parliamentary officials running their operations from the building, many of whom were forced to return home.

The reason for the ban is the tax dispute between the KICC and the PSC management, which is responsible for the well -being of parliamentarians, including office allocation and facility payments. According to the KICC, Parliament has accumulated the arrears of KSh 50,770,421.57, forcing the management to take such a strong action until the debt is cleared.

In the internal riots for the senators, the White House acknowledged the situation, assuring them that steps were being taken to resolve the issue quickly.
