The Friday Emotional Celebration, May 9, was attended by senior political leaders, including Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga And the Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetang’ula, who led a caravan of parliament in mourning his fallen colleague.
ODM honored his last request by covering his coffin with the party’s flag, with supporters crowded in the family wearing an orange dress, respect was heard from a 2024 video emerged in which the MP asked ODM supporters to attend his funeral.

The carriers dressed in blue t -shirts led the coffin humbly to the grave while the MP’s family was full of pain, and their pain was seen at every stage of the caravan.
What did Boyd Were say at the funeral?
Earlier, Boyd Were, the son of the late MP, gave a speech praising his father that turned the sadness into a resolution and opposition.
Despite fighting the pain of losing his father to violence, Boyd stood firm, vowing to perpetuate the legacy of Ongo Were.
“My father raised me and taught me not to be confident,” he said as he stood by his sad brothers.
“This tragedy will not break us. The people of Kasipul will not be silenced.”

His stroke words were received with applause and applause from the crowd, vowing to continue his father’s mission.
Boyd assured the mourners that the Were family would remain together in front of any challenge.
Kasipul MP was killed in a shooting on Tuesday night, April 30, near the City Mortuary circuit in Nairobi.
So far, several suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings.
Among the arrested are his driver, his bodyguard, politician and businessman Phillip Aroko, and Lake Basin Development Authority member, Ebel Ochieng.
The Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is determined to conduct a thorough investigation into the pursuit of justice.
