Nairobi: An investigation into the brutal killing of Kasipul Ong’ongo Were has taken a shocking stream, with investigating officers now involving his bodyguard and driver and a criminal gang suspected of carrying out the killings.

Allan Omondi, the bodyguard, and Walter Owino, his driver, were arrested in Nairobi during an overnight operation.

Their arrest follows a series of raids launched after detectives captured Dennis Sewe Munyasi in Mihang’o, Kayole, on Tuesday night, May 6.

Citizen TV reported that Munyasi, not knowing that he was being tracked, led the detectives to another chief suspect, Edwin Oduor Odhiambo, the famous Abdi Rashid.

During the interrogation, Oduor reportedly confirmed the existence of a wide plot, revealing that the killing was a coordinated plan involving the security statement of the MP.

This disclosure is in line with William Imoli’s earlier allegations, the first suspect arrested on Sunday, May 4, who claimed he received KSh 80,000 from the MP’s bodyguard to leave unknown people near the murder scene.

Further investigations revealed that some of the suspects were alleged to have received the initial payment of KSh 850,000, which was found in the Imoli Uthiri residence.

Investigating officials have now initiated an analysis of financial tactics aimed at all suspects to expose a series of money that led to the killings.

Following the arrests, the officers searched for Omondi residence in Uthiru and took the security and driver’s calls for judicial investigation.

Investigators are interested in identifying if any digital or financial evidence is directly involved with crime.

The authorities have also directed their view of the Chief Government Officer as a person of interest, thus signaling a significant increase in investigation.

Meanwhile, another suspect, Abel Ochieng ‘, was arrested in the city Nakuru Wednesday evening, May 7, bringing the number of were trapped to nine.

Five suspects are expected to be brought to court on Thursday, May 8, even with detectives extending their search to Homa Bay County, where more people are expected to be arrested.
