With a strong stance on law evasion, Murkomen’s declaration promises immediate action with police increasing efforts to ensure that those involved in the murder of Were are facing the law effectively.

In a press conference held on Wednesday, May 7, Murkomen revealed that some of the suspects in Were were the people around him.

“It is within my understanding that we have continued to arrest the perpetrators and their allies. It may be surprising to know that this brutal crime involved people who were responsible for protecting the interests of the MP,” Said Murkomen.

The minister also described the sad environment of the murder of the MP and how it was carried out, saying it was very terrible.

He added that it was sad that Were was killed despite having already complained about threats against his life.

“Despite being protected and being careful about his personal safety, it is sad that things went against expectations,” Said Murkomen.

Murkomen’s statement came after the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) confirmed that the driver and security guard were arrested.

The two survived without injuries during the attack, with the MP dying from gunshot wounds.

Charles Owino, a former police spokesman, confirmed that they were arrested on May 6 after making controversial information about the incident.

The Witnesses explained that on the night of the attack, the security guard jumped from a Toyota Crown to chase the attackers but failed to arrest them.

He later returned to the car where he and the driver rushed the MP to the hospital.

Despite the efforts, the gunshot wounds suffered by the Kasipul MP ​​were very serious and was declared dead when he was taken to hospital.

Was Were’s guard surprised suddenly at the time of the attack?

An armed guard, who was sitting back during the attack, said the incident was sudden and very shocking.

He explained that he had been bored and failed to act immediately.

He also explained that using a motorcycle brought benefits to the attackers as they were able to escape quickly and avoid traffic congestion.

A surgical report showed that the MP, who was sitting next to the driver, was shot five times.
