In the X (Twitter) post on Monday, May 5, former Minister of Commerce Moses Kuria He seemed to give a direct note on who would win the 2027 presidential election.

Who will win the 2027 presidential election?

In his mystical message, Kuria compared the 2027 elections with the 1992 and 1997 elections that saw then president Daniel Arap Moi winning.

According to Kuria, many things change, but Kenya’s political practices remain the same.

He promised to explain more about his predictions in the upcoming TV interview, but many Kenyans believed he was referring to President Ruto’s victory.

Kuria said:

“As things change, that’s how they remain. The 2027 presidential election will have tensions and results similar to the 1992 and 1997 elections.

In 1992, then president Moi won the election by 1,962,866 votes.

Who won the 1997 presidential election?

The main opposition candidates were Kenneth Matiba of Ford-Natural (1,404,266 votes), Mwai Kibaki of the Democratic Party (1,050,617 votes), and Jaramogi Oginga Odinga of Ford-Kenya.

In the 1997 elections, Moi re -elected through the KANU party despite the high pressure on the election reform.

Opposition candidates like Kibaki, Raila Odinga (NDP), Michael Wamalwa (Ford-Kenya), and Charity Ngilu (SDP) were divided and failed to join Moi, which helped him win by approximately 40% of the vote.

However, Kuria’s statement sparked a heated debate, with many Kenyans criticizing and rejecting his attitude.

Many explained that political and voter practices have changed and that opposition could unite to defeat Ruto.

Do you, Raila Odinga Will he run for president 2027?

At the same time, in a sudden political change, ODM party leader Raila Odinga revealed the possibility of disagreeing with President Ruto towards the 2027 elections.

This followed the signing of the agreement (MoU) between the ODM and the party UDA.

Raila, in a new statement, confirmed that his party would release the presidential candidate against Ruto in the next election.

Addressing supporters in Mombasa on Saturday, April 6, Raila made it clear that the Mou did not mean ODM to join the Kenyan government first.
