The media mourns the sudden death of the famous radio broadcaster Edward Carey Kwach, who passed away on Monday night, April 28, 2025, after several weeks of spinal cord.

His death, confirmed by the family through a statement issued by spokesman Michael Okwiri, caused shock across the country, with fans and fellow broadcasters expressing sadness and celebrating a life that marked a permanent mark on Kenya’s radio.
At the time of his death, Kwach was running a Drive dinner on Spice FM.

1. What made Edward Kwach famous?
Kwach’s voice was his main logo, and it made him one of the most popular broadcasters in the country.
With a heavy sound, pure accent and unique attractiveness, Kwach shone every time he got into the air.
His radio trip sent him to major news stations in the country: Capital FM, Kiss FM, EA FM, Nation FM, Homeboyz Radio, Urban Radio (Kisumu), and recently, Spice FM.

As the son of the late Judge Richard Otieno Kikach, a prominent judge of the Court of Appeal, it was clear that he would follow in the footsteps of his father in the law profession.
Joined the university of Western Cape in South Africa, where he graduated with a law degree (BA In Law) in 1995.
