What killed Edward Kwach?
The Spice FM presenter died on the night of April 28, 2025, while undergoing treatment for spinal fever.
His death was confirmed by a statement from the family issued by his spokesman Michael Okwiri, who described Kwach as a beloved son, brother, and a pleasant voice in the Kenyan waves.
Kwach had been receiving treatment for several weeks before his death, in which his family and friends called on the public to donate blood.
The support he received showed how he touched the lives of many, not only through his good radio work but also through his relationship.
“It is with great sadness that we are announcing the timely departure of our child and our beloved brother, Carey,” The statement read, respecting his inheritance as “A trusted and well -known mate to the audience across the country.”

How did Maina Kageni mourn Edward Kwach?
Following such sad news, Classic 105 radio presenter, Maina Kageni He gave sincere greetings to his late friend.
Maina, who worked closely with Kwach in Kiss 100, described Kwach as the largest radio broadcaster in Kenya ever.
Reflecting on their time together, Maina remembered how the infectious force of Kwach and the heart of determination left a permanent mark for everyone around him.
Their chemistry in the air, along with other prominent broadcasters such as Arjun Vidyarthi, Ciku Muiruri, and Cess Mutungi, set new standards on Kenyan radio entertainment.
“One of the best things that has ever happened to me is to meet Edward Carey Francis Kwach,” Maina wrote. “He was a broadcaster whose power and the tendency to get information bothered us.”
In his greetings, Maina also mentioned his late counterpart Eric Ndavi, noting in a deep heart that Kwach has now joined him, and that there is a day and they will be reunited.
Maina sent her condolences to family and close friends of Kwach – Edgar, Otto, Shaka, Richard, Mama Emma, and Don Vito – as well as to her colleagues like Denis Ndavi, Teddy Mutisi, and Arnold Lakita.

A few weeks ago, news of Kwach’s admission shocked fans and friends.
Kwach was admitted to Coptic Hospital in Nairobi, where he was undergoing treatment.
According to updates shared by the journalist Caroline Mutoko On behalf of the Kwach family, the dead presenter urgently needed blood donations to help him recover.
