Kipyegon misses the world record

The Kenyan star expected to break the 28 -year -old Svetlana Masterkova world record, but failed. The three -time Olympic champion spent 2: 29.21 and had no Masterkova record of 2: 28.98 at the first Diamond League conference of 2025.

Kipyegon was on the way to break the record, but it seems he is too far away and will likely end his record of reaching that record. He ran 800 meters less than two minutes and needed a lot of inspiration in the last 200 meters to break the record.
