Nairobi – A woman who thought she would be detained for three years in Lang’ata’s women’s prison can now breathe after a blessed man rescued her.

Dorothy Katulu was detained 2024 after members of his party accused him of losing KSh 200,000.

How did Dorothy Katulu raise the party’s KSh 200k money?

The girl explained that she had been entrusted to be the treasurer of their party, where they had saved KSh 2.1 million, which had to be divided among members in December 2024.

While still holding KSh 200,000 on M-moneya colleague introduced him to the Aviator gambling game, and played a gambling game, hoping to win, but instead lost the whole amount.

As a result, four party members did not get their assignment, which led him to be arrested and eventually imprisoned.

Dorothy was arrested on December 15 and taken to court on December 17.

His family could not get the money, thus forcing him to start serving a jail sentence. She was seven months pregnant when her story was introduced by Njeraini Ciitu.

When was Dorothy Katulu released?

A good Samaritan who heard about the woman’s misery decided to help her out of her problem.

He paid KSh 283,000 out of the KSh 300,000 fine that Dorothy had been ordered to pay, thus causing him to be released.

Simon Kibe, who previously shared his story, told TUKO.co.ke that the girl was released on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

“Many people had previously offered to sponsor him but they were told he couldn’t leave, I’m not sure why but I’m happy finally he has his freedom,” Said Kibe.

Simon also noted that the girl had already given birth to her baby and is currently with her baby’s father in Nairobi.

Some Internet users were sad and grateful that the generous visitor intervened, with others expressing their concerns about the rise of gambling involved in such sports, demanding more awareness and control.

Other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that the boy from EldoretUasin Gishu County, complained after losing KSh 2.8 million through gambling at the aviator.
