Speaking to TUKO.co.ke alone, Mugoh, who was returning from Kericho after investigating the murder case, said he was tired and sat in the back seat of his car when his driver informed him of the alleged officials to rob several drivers on a road block.

Why did Jane Mugoh face the traffic police?

He claims the group, which included more than 20 officers, was stopping vehicles, harassing and terrorizing drivers, many of whom appeared to be drunk.

“When my driver arrived at the officers, one shouted ‘Come down!”

He said he lowered his window quietly, introduced himself, and informed officials that his driver had no violation of traffic rules.

One officer recognized and advised others to release him. He believes his identity protected him from the same abuse as other motorists that night.

However, he used the opportunity to remind the officers to go to drivers professionally, to avoid abuse and to avoid taking bribes from any car they encounter.

“Are you okay? Not everyone is a drunkard. I use a bad language? Use the right language and know the kind of people you target. And if you are to raise money, do it respectfully. Look at me-you are not afraid? You collect money even for innocent people,” he said, adding, “I respect good officers, but we often congratulate you,” He said.
