Politics dominated the pages of local newspapers on Saturday, April 19, including the return of former interior minister Fred Matiang’i, who is said to be running for the presidency.

1. People Daily

People Daily reported on the return of former Interior Minister Fred Matiang’i in the country and its 2027 presidential strategy.

Matiang’i is expected to hold a series of meetings with politicians and priests while planning the upcoming election strategies.

He, according to sources, has removed open campaigns, which his operators said would be too early, to participate.

Matiang’i is also scheduled to make discussions with young people and stakeholders.

The former minister did not address his supporters after arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), just telling them; “We’ll have time to talk together,”

2. Nation today

The nation today illuminated him Rutostarting early campaigns for re -election 2027.

The newspaper reported a spectacular case in Takaungu, Kilifi County, where a man was killed after he attacked his neighbor and destroyed his remains.

According to police, Zachariah Charo killed Ainen Twalib on Tuesday, April 15, after returning from the mosque.

The 30 -year -old later died after being attacked by villagers.

Police revealed that Charo used a knife to stab him in the stomach with a side and cut his head with a stone.

The intention of the evil act is still unknown, with police saying they have initiated an investigation.

An investigation into the victim’s body was conducted in the mortuary of the Kilifi County referral hospital, and, as a Muslim, was buried on Thursday.
