A woman lost her life with an unknown number of people suffering injuries in the village of Oinoptich in the Ward, Molo, after a car she was traveling from work in the field failed to control it and collapsed on the Oinoptich bridge.

How did the Elburgon accident happen?

Speaking at the scene, some residents who arrived to assist in the rescue said that the road had been in critical condition for a long time and had caused great suffering for residents who use it to reach their farms.

Mirriam Kapsianga said that the car was carrying people who had completed the farm from Lawina to Elburgon before the accident happened at the bridge.

“He had other farm workers in the packet, and when they arrived at the scene, the packet lost focus and from the road,” He said.

He explained that 12 people were sitting behind the packet, while the other woman and the baby were in front of the driver.

According to him, when the car began to crash, the woman fell to the ground, and then the car trampled her and killed her instantly.

“The road is very bad; two cars have already had an accident before, with boda boda, so it is a serious threat to the transportation of this area,” he added.

Susan Wanjiku said that farm workers were taken from the city of Elburgon early in the morning and taken to the farm before being returned.

“The bridge has become a problem; despite various government efforts, rainwater has been pouring and stabbing its wall,” He said.

Police from Elburgon arrived at the scene to assist in rescue and sent the deceased’s body to Elburgon Hospital.

Residents called on the county government and the central government to address the poor road conditions in the area, saying that heavy rainfall has been damaging the roads.
