UAE: 3 out of 5 Kenyans killed in a tower fire disaster, the government confirms

United Arab Emirates: A massive fire that broke out on Sunday morning, April 13, in a high residence building in Al Nahda, Sharjah, cost the lives of five people and left 19 others injured.

Among the deaths are three Kenyan citizens, according to confirmation from Roseline Njogu, the Secretary -General of the Kenyan State Department responsible for Diaspora affairs.

The 52 -story building, which retains more than 1,500 residents of various countries and popularly known as the residence of many Kenyans working in the UAE, is located opposite the Sahara Center and is one of the tallest towers in the UAR property.

According to police reports, the fire originated in one of the top apartments.

Hundreds of residents were evacuated as emergency ministers came in quickly.

According to the Khaleej Times, residents were slowly allowed to return to their rooms later that evening, although access to the floor over 30 levels remained prevented.

In addition to the deaths, a Kenyan citizen was reported to have suffered injuries during the incident. Injured people were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

In a different news, the fiery fire from Gachie cost the lives of three children, who were burnt to the extent, leaving another injury.

Residents believed that the candle was turned on may have been left burning when the lightning broke off when the mother left.
