Kisumu: 2 women arrested for using guns to scare men

Kisumu: What started as a cautionary story quickly became a tornado of problems, since Sharon Auma and her friend Nancy Atieno Obura found themselves at a much deeper than they had ever thought.

Why did DCI arrest Kisumu women?

The detective said on Tuesday, April 15, that it received reports about Auma after taking photos on his WhatsApp network holding a pistol, warning men against leaving him.

“The arrest follows the report received by Sharon, who decided to improve his WhatsApp status, posting a photo showing a pistol while warning that any man who dares to throw him will face serious consequences,” The DCI statement was partially studied.

In response to the report, DCI officials initiated an investigation that brought them to the city of Awasi, where they found and arrested Auma.

“After being interviewed, he led the officers to the two -bedroom apartment, and now he accused Atieno,” they said.

The detailed search of the house revealed the pistol, with empty magazine, hidden in clothes inside the basin under the bed. Officers also received a fake motorcycle tin with KMGG 805M.

Auma and Atieno were placed in custody and are being treated waiting to be brought to court.

Investigations are continuing the investigation into efforts to arrest other suspects linked to the gun.

“Both suspects are now in custody, continuing to be treated waiting to be brought to court, with investigators following the arrest of more suspects in connection with the gun,” DCI added.

Hellen Njoki, 30, who was previously dismissed from a state -owned company, was brought before Mountains senior judge Gilbert Shikwe for numerous charges related to Internet violence.

The court documents that TUKO.co.ke succeeded in seeing that on April 14, 2024, Njoki allegedly sent a series of threats and frustrations through WhatsApp to Miriam Athmani, the GDC Human Resources Manager.

One of the charges includes a special threat of killing Athmani, which is reported to be sent through a WhatsApp message mentioned on the prosecution paper.

Njoki, who came to court without legal representation, denied all six charges and released on a cash bail KSh 300,000 or an alternative bond of KSh 500,000.
