The former deputy reported in response to a new strategy for Ruto to include his support in the most populous area.
According to Gachagua, current plans to enable partners of Kenya first targeting groups in Mount Kenya will not help Ruto re -elected in 2027.
Gachagua also said that the recent meeting of Ruto and the clergy was a political cunning intended to deceive the public.

Gachagua’s remarks follow a series of Ruto meetings with religious leaders from Kiambu County.
On Monday, April 14, the President met with religious leaders from Kiamba, Kabete and Thika at the Nairobi palace.

Gachagua’s remarks also come after the Kenyan Union first launched a series of empowerment programs targeting Mount Kenya.

More than 10 million KShs were collected to support women and bodaboda groups, with the President contributing KSh 3 million.
