Why did the Supreme Court dismiss Ruth Kamande's appeal

He brought the question of the illness of the beaten woman, saying that the murder of his girlfriend was not planned but instead was an act of self -defense.

Kamande, who was appointed Miss Lang'ata Women Prison in 2016, wanted the court to reduce the charges and be interpreted as an environmental event.

However, in his decision on Friday, April 11, a bench of seven judges of the Supreme Court stated that the matter that Kamande presented before him was not mentioned in the Court of Appeal where it was presented for the first time.

The high court said that issues that were not decided in the case could not be received in front of the bench.

According to the court, contrary to Kamande's allegation that his murdered boyfriend was a threat of demanding that he take strong action, the evidence presented in court showed a romantic relationship.

The judges further confirmed that there was no way to suggest that the deceased had abused him and that the controversy that led to the murder was unusual.

When did Ruth Kamande kill her boyfriend?

Kamande killed his girlfriend, Farid Mohammed Halim, on September 20, 2015, in the Buruburu Estate area in Nairobi.

The high court blow is several months after graduating a law degree in the High Committee Prison.

Speaking at the graduation, Kamande emphasized the importance of the event and noted that it is a good idea for people who have successfully graduated their law despite being closed.

He also acknowledged the event as a celebration of graduates of personal change, renovation and reform during imprisonment.

As Kamande was preparing for his graduation, he explained that his law enforcement was based on a request for assistance in his case by former Attorney General Githu Muigai.
