Bomet: The report shows the car that caused the accident that killed 15 people was running fast

Bomet: 15 people have been confirmed dead and 14 others injured following a traumatic accident involving vehicles Three On Kericho-Kaplong Road.

The accident happened at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, in the Cheptakulge area near grade six.

According to police reports, the accident involved a truck, three, and a Mazda private car.

Six injured people were taken to St. Clare's Kaplong, five at Tenwek Hospital, and three at AIC Litein Hospital for emergency treatment.

What caused the Kericho-Kaplong highway accident?

The traffic commander of BometAmos Namasaka, confirmed the incident and said that preliminary investigations show that the source of the accident was a private car transporting passengers from the ceremony.

“The small car was carrying the people from the ceremony and they were screaming a lot. They were not careful on the road. He said, citing great music and arbitrary operations being some of the causes of the accident.

Sad photos and videos around online and that have been seen by TUKO.co.ke show the serious consequences of the accident: three were badly damaged, the front glass was broken, the seats were cut, the windows were broken, and the tires were broken.

The white truck was found leaning on the road, with its front being severely damaged. The private car remained as a cracked rubble.

The presence of a bottle of alcohol inside the saloon car showed that the driver was probably driving drunk.

Police officials quickly arrived at the scene, handled the remains of the vehicles and initiated a thorough investigation into the exact cause of the accident.

Bomet governor, Hillary Bartok, made his condolences through a statement, saying:

“I am deeply saddened to hear about a fatal accident on Sotik-Kericho Road in Cheptangulgei, Sotik Division. The three-car accident has resulted in serious deaths and injuries. Quick and we offer our sincere condolences to the families of the lost loved ones. “

At the same time, concerned residents are calling on drivers to be more careful and urge the government to enforce more strict traffic rules, especially in areas known as risk.

The bodies of the victims were transported to Kapkatet County Hospital for the required procedures.

In another statement, three carrying 14 students at Mugoiri Girls school were involved in an accident in Witeithie, Kiambu County, after being pushed to a terrace and bus.

The head of the school, Mrs. Susan Mundia, confirmed that no one was injured or lost, and all students were safe.

The students continued their journey home using another car, with the school giving thanks to God for their protection.
