Restrictions appear in Gachagua camp during Ruto's visit to Mount Kenya

Kahiga's remarks are coming as tensions escalate into Gachagua's political camp, with some of its allies making different views on the best ways to cooperate with the President.

The division has emerged in his camp with its allies raising questions about its leadership and its strategy to focus on Mount Kenya towards 2027.

Although he is not a formal presidential candidate, his efforts to unite the opposition to Ruto are undermined by internal divisions, a situation that raises doubts about his ability to unite his supporters.

Popular leaders such as activist George Morara and MP Gathoni Mamuchomba have urged Gachagua to have a more integrated attitude.

The tensions intensified when Gen Z activist Morara Kebaso and his Inject Party announced his withdrawal from his camp, blaming him for promoting ethnic politics.
