6 choirs died in a traumatic road accident on a journey to perform

How did the choirs die?

The bus of the choir was traveling on Sunday, March 30, resulting in deaths and 23 others injured.

The Citizen reported that the accident happened around 4:00 am when the singers were from Chome to Vudee in Kilimanjaro district in the country Tanzania.

According to the district commissioner, the bus suffered a technical problem and had an accident.

“The brakes failed and the driver failed to afford it then it started to return back before it turned and overturned and caused the deaths,” He said.

The choir was heading for Vudee for the performance of the accident.

Eliazina Edson, one of the choirs, said the bus was climbing the mountain and it had a technical problem and started to go back.

“We had been invited to perform, but sadly, our journey was interrupted. Some of us died, while others broke up.”

Mwajuma Omari, a local resident, said he heard a loud roar and people screaming.

“My grandson told me that the bus had fallen.”

The deceased's bodies were taken to Same District Hospital, and the governor sent condolences to the family.

Injuries were transported to different health facilities for treatment.

In an unrelated incident, the other had an accident in the same district later in the afternoon.

One person died and 52 others injured.
