Who was the father Jeff Koinange?

The Koinange family has its roots until the 1860s, and the Jeff family currently lives on a large piece of land in Kiamba.

Recently the journalist shared a video talking to his mother, in a bid to focus on Koinange's legacy.

“This land here belongs to my mother. She grew up in Githiga and married in the Koinange family in 1959 and had four children, but her husband died shortly after independence,” Jeff said.

Jeff, who lovingly calls his mother Munene or Nyina of Kabaka, then handed over to him.

“My husband, Frederick Mbiyu Koinange, died on March 7, 1966 when Jeff was only two months old and the last born- by the grace of God that he survived. Shiro was 4 years old, Koi was over two years, and Koinange, my first son, had more than a year.”

Ngoima noted that he was 28 years old at the time.

“It was very difficult, but I thank God that I am saved.”

Jeff's mother said that her father, Mbiyu, was the son of the third wife of the senior chief Koinange, and they were jailed by the colonists.

“Koinange's family has suffered. My husband was detained for seven years, all my mother -in -law's children were also prevented, including the father of Kamamba MP Paul Koinage.

There was one sister, Lilian, who died at the Committee. ”

Ngoima said her mother -in -law, Joyce Kagendo Koinange, was also detained for seven years.

“But we fought for it – when you lick your bed, you must sleep on it. We suffered, but we are happy because God protected us.”
