Thairu was found dead a few days after he was reported to be lost, on Friday, March 21, which led to his family starting a search for him.

His cousin Mercy, Daniel Karanja, told TUKO.co.ke that he was last seen climbing the boda boda, which brought him down near Thika Road Mall (TRM).

Karanja explained that Mercy was found hit by a car in the Carwash area along Thika Road, but it is still unclear how she arrived.

“We found him in City Mortuary. He was involved in an accident at the Carwash area near Thika Road. He was inside Bolt Bike but the driver left TRM. We don't know if he was walking or was on the road before being hit,” he explained.

He added that the family was on his way to the police station of Kasaraniwhere the incident was reported, to get more information about Mercy's death.

The third year student at the University of Nairobi went missing on Friday, March 21, after leaving her friends at night.

The young girl, who was taking a degree of art in the economy, was last seen in Koja, Nairobi CBD, at 5:30 pm.

Reports indicate that he lost consciousness after drinking alcohol at a hotel in Nairobi. One of his friends organized a taxi to take him home.

Her mother, who is full of sadness, suspects that her daughter was given drugs that night, as she was the only person in their unconscious group.
