Fula Chebikati forgives those who attacked Bomas

Speaking at her funeral on Saturday, March 8 in Trans Nzoia County, Wetang'ula praised Chebikati for standing firm while under high pressure to announce the election results.

The electoral commission was divided as some commissioners rebelled.

“He said it was his responsibility and no matter the number of rebellious commissioners. His role was to announce the election results in accordance with the Constitution.

That's what they did, ” Wetang'ula, a distant relative of the deceased said.

The Speaker noted that Chebikati was insulted, and even physically hurt by his position.

Recalling that day, Wetangula remembered looking at how Chebikati was attacked.

“President William Rutodo you remember when we were in Bomas waiting for the results to be announced? Two former senators attacked Chebikati- one struck him with a river and the other hit him in front of us. ”

Wetangula said that two other commissioners were also attacked during the riots.

Wetangula, Advocate said he later approached Chebikati and proposed to sue the perpetrators.

“It was trapped on national television so I told him to take P3 and sue them.”

However, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that Chebikati refused.

“Said my nephew, God will answer them I have done the same and I will do it again. For those who attacked me, God will deal with them. That is the one who forgave.”

Chebikati's daughter talks about the murder conspiracy

Chebikati's daughter confirmed Wetangula's statement that she was attacked.

Rachel narrated a difficult time before the announcement of the 2022 election when there were intelligence reports that her father could be killed.

Rachel said those responsible for the plot allegedly wanted to stop Chebikati from announcing the results.

The family prayed to God by calling the preachers to pray for Chebikati.

Mary said when her husband was sick, there were numerous reports on social networks that she had died, and she received a phone call from people who were misled by the false allegations.
