Why was a Kenyan woman sentenced to death in Vietnam?

For his role in the operation, he was paid $ 1,300 (equivalent to approximately KSh 167,000). In addition, the man who hired him paid for all his travel costs, including airline tickets.
According to the indictment, Nduta began his journey on July 7, 2023, passing through many countries before arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on July 14, 2023.
As a result of the delay in his flight, staff at Tan Son Nhat airport advised him to complete the immigration procedures so that they could help him resume the trip to Laos.
However, during a regular security inspection at the airport, customs officers discovered more than 2 kg of drugs hidden in his jacket.
When he was brought to court, Nduta insisted that he did not know the presence of drugs in the luggage. He held that he only agreed to transport the jacket as instructed, believing it had legal items.
The prosecutors however dismissed his allegations, saying his defense was an attempt to avoid being responsible. They emphasized that people found with large amounts of drugs must be fully held accountable under the laws of Vietnam.

Again, a convicted person has seven days to ask the president of the nation to pity him. When these efforts are unsuccessful, the implementation has been coordinated, although the schedule of events varies depending on the legal issues and the specific information of the case.
