1. Nation today

The Swahili newspaper reported on the criticism of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against President William Ruto.

While in a church service in Machakos on Sunday, March 2, Gachagua denied allegations of Ruto that the opposition has no development agenda.

Former Deputy President stressed that the main agenda of the opposition was to oust Ruto in the next general election.

He also noted that the opposition plans to end the kidnapping and arbitrary killings, which he said is common under Ruto's rule.

“Not that we have no plan, but the emergency plan given by Kenyans is to get you out of office in the next election. It is not possible to implement our plans before we remove you, because one of our plans is to end the kidnapping and arbitrary killings. Another plan is to restore a health system, which has been undermined under your leadership, ” Said Gachagua.

2. The Standard

The newspaper reported on a new agreement discussed between ODM leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.

Although Raila is pushing for an agreement like what he signed by President Daniel Moi in 1997, President Ruto wants a similar deal as that of the 2008 national treaty signed by the President Mwai Kibaki.

Under the Ruto Plan, the position of a non -authoritative Prime Minister will be created for Raila through Parliamentary Act, using the 2008 hybrid government system.

The draft of the new structure, if implemented, will not affect the Cabinet Prime Minister, Musalia Mudavadi, who will continue to serve in his Railways offices. Meanwhile, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki will move to his Karen offices from Harambee House Annex.

“Raila's security has already been strengthened because President Ruto is expected to form the office of the Prime Minister who does not have much authority to him in the Harambee House Annex,” said the source of information.

The president is also expected Justin Muturi so that his position is filled with ODM nominees.

3. Daily Nation

The newspaper reported on the new criticism of President William Ruto against the leadership of the Catholic Church for rejecting his KSh 5 million contribution.

In a service of the Jesus Winner Ministry Church in Roysambu on Sunday, March 2, President Ruto narrated with humor how he still did not understand why the Catholic Church rejected his contribution.

“I am often criticized for giving, but when we give it to church, we do it for God and not for believers. I have tried to read the Bible, but I have not found any scripture that says that if you make a sacrifice to God, then the bishop will return your contribution,” said Ruto.
